Irritable bowel is definitely linked to hereditary hemochromatosis. I had irritable bowel for 20+ years. When it became intolerable I went to the see the doctor on the prompting of my wife (who is a family physician). I am now de-ironed after about 5 months of weekly phlebotomies and all symptoms of irritable bowel have disapeared. I haven't felt this good since, well, since I was a teenager. I still have some trouble with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction but being free of irritable bowel eclipses that big time. I'm 47 BTW, ferretin at diagnosis was 750, C282Y homozygote. Mike
