Posted by Aran Gordon on March 25, 2007, 9:13 pm That said, so much has happened that I wanted to share. I have recently finished filming a segment for The Discovery Channel's Mystery Diagnosis that should air in the next month or so. Equally exciting was the recently released book by Dr. Sharon Moalem, Survival of the Sickest, where the first chapter is dedicated to my experience with hemochromatosis. Together, Dr. Moalem and I will travel the U.S. to raise awareness about the book and in particular hemochromatosis. The publisher has proposed that the Oprah Winfrey Show do a segment on my experience. I share this with you because I see it as a wonderful opportunity to continue to raise awareness about this dreadful disease that afflicts so many people and the loved ones around the afflicted. If you would like, I will keep you posted on how things are going and if anyone has any ideas I would most certainly look forward to receiving them and I will gladly respone to learn more from you. Thank you again for all your kind thoughts. The last year, after the last race, was not fun healthwise (including contracting malaria!), but back on track again. I look forward to hearing from you and how all of you are doing. Regards, Aran aran_gordon@yahoo.com

My name is Aran Gordon and I finally wanted to thank you for your well wishes as I ran the 2005 and 2006 Marathon des Sables in the Sahara Desert. It was both a remarkably challenging and great experience with memories that will last a lifetime.
