Hello Cindy I have suspected I may have hemachromatosis and asked my doctor to carry out a the tests she did the ferritin test which came back as 85 she said this is normal and wont do any further tests I note your ferritin was 41 but you have been diagnosed. I am thinking about having the gene tests and saturation and TIBC done privately - do you think it is worth doing this when the serum ferritin is 85 ( I think this is quite high for a female in her thirties ? ) Your views would be appreciated?
