I suspect that they'll be looking to check that there's nothing untoward with your liver - particularly if it was damaged by the iron overload. I had some damage prior to diagnosis and now have an annual ultrasound. It's a simple painless procedure which covers all your abdominal organs and they should be able to tell you the results on the spot.
