I would discuss it with your physician, as a layperson I would hate to advise someone what to do. In my own case, I was diagnosed with ferretin at 750; I'm now in maintenance, ferretin is 50, and all liver function tests are normal. I used to drink a beer and one or two glasses of wine a day. I stopped completely when I was diagnosed. Now that I'm in maintenance, I allow myself 1-2 glasses of wine per week. I also love good beer. I stopped drinking beer but I treat myself to a favourite brew once in a while, which works out to maybe once every couple of months.
