20 yr old son diagnosed after 9 months of testing

In April 05 our son went for routine blood work ordered by his endochronologist. The results were elevated liver enzymes. After many many many tests, he found out on Dec 22/05 that he has early stage of hemochromotosis. He will be seeing his doctor in Jan. We have two other children, a 17yr old son and a 14 yr old daughter. Of course they will have to go for testing as well. Our 19 yr old has many medical problems. Are any other medical problems related to hemochromatosis. Are there any support groups in Northern Ontario (North Bay area) or in Midland area? We know that he will need to have blood removed on a regular basis. Is there any use for this blood? I seen that in BC there are trying to keep tract of how many donate for this. My husband is a regular blood donor (89 times and counting) Can anything be done with our son's blood other than just getting rid of it? I am just really hungry for any info we can get? Any websites that are better than others? or any that we should not look at? thanks for all your help... and support Marj
