Hi Virginia,
I had not heard of polycythemia vera, or myelogenous leukemia before your post, so I looked them up on Google. I found a few informative sites including http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/polycythemia/HQ01231

If no one here can offer any personal advice I hope these sites and a further google search can give you some information. I did not notice any study connecting these disorders to HH, other than phlebotomies are recommend as treatment for both polycythemia vera and hemochromatosis. I hope both your husbands disorders can be successfully controlled through phlebotomies.
