So I started looking for shops in the area that might have old dolls and toys. There was a shop in the next town that was called Mr. Big's Toyland - and I found a pale blond Skipper with a case and some clothes, and a medium blond Midge in the nurse outfit. Around the same time I found a blond bubblecut Barbie. I can't be sure which was first, but I think it was Skipper and Midge. I didn't buy Barbie from the store (current dolls) for many, many years.
