Why do they have to be so darned stiff and awkward looking. I get minimum articulation to keep costs down, but the limbs can be molded in more natural poses than just straight arms and legs. Plus the arms stick out at that weird angle and cannot touch the sides of the body. And the head lost its ability to pivot, just side to side motions now. I miss the older Fashionisa Ken body that was posed.
I know adult collectors aren't the core audience but guess what, we probably buy more of these fashionista dolls than parents do for their kids. It just bugs me to have to buy a doll then rebody it for my tastes. But I guess that's more money for Mattel. However in the case of the boys, there are rarely any rebodying options.
