    A few months ago a friend of mine found a lot of vintage dolls at a garage sale, and he called if I wanted it. I don't collect vintage at all but imagined that for the $20 asking price we couldn't really go wrong so he bought it for me sight unseen. I posted pictures here and you all were nice enough to help me ID the dolls. I sold 4 of the 5 dolls to people from this board, thanks again, you know who you are.

    This friend and I are puppy raisers for Guide Dogs of America, and I didn't really want to keep profit from something he found for me without sharing it, so together we decided to donate the money to the first puppy in our group to graduate. We have a small group of puppy raisers here in Tehachapi (5 families) and on October 19 two puppies of our group will be graduating. Guide Dogs of America offers guide dogs to visually impaired people completely free of charge (all funded by donations) and people and companies can sponsor a harness to the graduating person-dog team. So, the doll money is buying a brand new harness for Hawk and his person. We didn't put Barbie down as a sponsor name, but our own guide dogs in training (our Jane and our friend's Hercules).

    Here are Hawk (on right) and Knight (puppy in training that dropped out - we adopted him) over a year ago.
