    surgery ever at all and that you are able to come back to perfect health very soon. I did reply to your email but please let me know if you didn't receive it and I'll resend.     : now. Hubby came down sick with bad cold
    : while we were on our trip. so of course
    : after spending 12 hours in the car driving
    : home with him coughing and sneezing, I came
    : down with it, too. So, no way they would do
    : surgery with me coughing like I am. However,
    : this week I also had a pre-surgery
    : assessment with a physical therapist who
    : works with the neurosurgeon, and her opinion
    : was that I'm doing well enough they should
    : hold off on the surgery for now, and the
    : surgeon agreed. Since i had the epidural
    : injection in my neck in July, the pain has
    : not returned (thank goodness!), and the
    : strength in my left arm is some better than
    : it was when I first saw the neurosurgeon.
    : So, they've decided to have me try therapy
    : and some neck strengthening exercises and
    : see how I do. So, I am relieved not to be
    : having the surgery done and will just have
    : to see how I do. If the pain returns and
    : cannot be handled again with injections,
    : etc., or if my arm becomes weaker, then I
    : would probably have to go ahead with the
    : surgery. I've been reluctant to push my body
    : too much these past few months for fear I
    : would start hurting again, but they want me
    : to see what happens as I gradually work back
    : into more normal activity. So, that all
    : seems good for now.
