NDR: Please keep my dad in your thoughts todayArchived Message

Today I take my dad to get his cataracts removed. My mom will be there too, but she doesn't drive well on interstates any longer, so I'm playing chauffeur.
My dad is a former construction contractor and served in the Air Force as a pilot. He isn't afraid of much, well, other than snakes, which is a fear I share too. :-) But he's terrified of the procedure and it's been a very long week running back and forth "across the yard" to check on him. There's little my mom and I can do to help him at this point, other than just being there and telling him it will be well. This isn't his first surgery, but the other medical issues happened so quickly that he didn't have time to think, just react. He's in perfect health and really has no reason to worry. I suppose it's fear of the unknown.
So please think of him today and keep him in your prayers if you would. I know he's terrified and I would give anything to make it better. He's supported me through everything in my life and he's a huge supporter of my collecting habits. He's taken me to conventions, hole-in-the-wall stores to buy dolls, build me shelves, and in May even took me to Allentown so I could buy the FAO Schwartz store sign - which meant renting a van so we could get the thing home. He's even talking about going with me this weekend to meet a woman who is trying to sell her deceased MIL's collection.
I just want him to get through this without giving himself other medical issues.
Thanks. :-)
