Posted by The chairman Allegedly the skipper also took one and scored many moons ago at the Maidenhead tournament but I have no first hand knowledge of this and think that maybe a large number of that team may now be deceased. Sadly there were two people on hat tricks who might have been asked to nudge in the stroke on Saturday but the skipper was intent.

No, these things are best lost in the mists of time. I think he may have taken a stroke (and scored) in a barage in a final at Brussels in 2001 (we won anyway and the judge put the decisive sudden penalty away with aplomb)(and spookily I think it was the gardener - see match report for 19/3 - who missed his) .
