Ice cover the past couple of weeks has decreased at the fastest rate ever recorded. Doesn't sound like much but to me as most of you know by now I am looking at the timing of it--specifically that the global electrical circuit is much more active, particularly to the summer time in the Northern Hemisphere, due to the fact that there is more land in the northern hemisphere and land is where lightning occurs. Since to me CO2 is a conductivity variable, it gets expressed (this variable of CO2) when lightning is at its greatest. Therefore, summer and late fall when we see the the 2 - 3 standard deviations from the 79-2000 mean--this confirms my electrics theory, and as a sub set of it, despite the quiet (spotless days) sun, we are now seeing this record melting, and in my view the start of yet another trend for the late summer early fall to see the Arctic become ice free.
