Ahhhh I see. I'm afraid you're going to find Raliegh in summer to be a lot hotter than what you're used to in Miami. And you sure as hell won't be getting any sea breeze that far from the coast. By late August you'll be begging to go north - like about a thousand miles north, LOL!
Yea. inland in this part of the country in summer time can be insufferable (unless you're in the mountains.) Inland South Carolina is hell on earth in summer - which is why hardly a soul lives there. Think about it...just try and name ANY city in S.C. other than the capital that's not on the coast. You can't. No one can. LOL!
Well, there IS air conditioning of course. But outside...whew! Won't be long till you get the thrill of seeing 100F, 101F, 102F, 103F...Aaaaaack!
But on the positive side - you can zoom to Cape Fear, Cape Lookout, or Cape Hatteras and get yourself a nice little hurricane! And come winter time there's always the chance for snow (though central N.C. is not exactly what one would call a "snow belt.")
Hey, maybe we can both go down to Wrightsville Beach (just a few miles from here) and be on The Weather Channel some day - seems those folks just love Wrightsville Beach - it's a frigging second home for Jim Cantore, LOL!
See ya!
Tim in Cape Fear, NC
