I guess the verdict is still out for me. I don't see global warming spinning out of control, at least on a long period time scale.
I see this period of warming but then history tells of us of warmer periods, and colder periods, and that each shifted back and forth.
Jim, I know where you stand, and opinions are everybody's option to have and state publicly.
Hell, it may get hotter than any of us remember, but then again, humans don't live 50,000 years or 100,000 years.
Our personal memory banks, not history records, are less than a "blink of an eye".
As a HUGE side note, Encyclopedia Britannica has marked 2009 as the 20th anniversary of the "global cooling summits" held around the world in 1989 and early 1990. The prevalent theory 20 years ago, you might ask? That we were entering a new ice age, and that human civilization would suffer tremendously as a result.
20 years later........Global warming, and watch out now, human civilization will suffer tremendously as a result.
I am not mocking any theory. But if I followed every study and prevailing theories on an issue, I would not eat chocolate, eat raw or undercooked meats or shellfish, wear or use certain products, etc.
My gut tells me in 20 years, we humans will have developed new theories on the weather.
LawKat, out.................
