If this story was to indicate cyclone activity is down despite global warming 2 points come to mind.
First why is the Atlantic basin so busy the past 15 years & is cooler water in the East pac causing the pacific to churn out less systems. Why have we gone so long without Elnino?
My second point is that many scientist's have pointed to stronger hurricanes & not nessesarily more but the Atlantic is churning out much stronger hurricanes than in the past. You see this is Dr Grays argument about global warming & this ACE chart will be his proof to continue his concept that hurricanes will not be stronger or more plentiful. Yet no one can explain what is going on in the Atlantic basin.
