I hope that this is the end of winter. Temps for the next 15 days are not expected to dip lower than 48 and highs should hover near 78-80. That I can live with. Mobile recorded its coldest winter since the early 1980s. Snow was seen as far south as just north of Mobile (city) since 1993.
The other interesting item is that this has also been a very dry 2009. I have recorded (here at the house) less than 3 inches since Jan. 1. My back pond had dried up and is only wet now.
On the plus side, everything seems to blooming and I hope that winter is DEAD!!!! I usually like "some" cold weather, but 2008-2009 winter was over the top.
I actually think this will mean NOTHING come hurricane season. For you see, in 1979, Mobile endured a very cold winter, and 7-8 months later, Hurricane Frederic hit as a Cat 3. So, coldest winter in decades draws no analog for me.
