Posted by Ludilo on November 4, 2003, 1:58 pm, in reply to "Elections" As for the Diaspora, I think that if we have someone in Sabor then they need to be apolitical. I don't see a problem with someone from abroad being in Sabor. Where I do see a problem is that we waste our voice if "our" representative is a member of an existing party. The way I see it, in order to make this beneficial, the Diaspora representative needs to be held accountable to his/her constituency and that happens to be us. The Diaspora representative would obviously then serve as a bridge from Sabor to the iseljenistvo and vice versa. The representative should vote in line with our platform and not that of an established political party. Would this shift the balance of power? No not really, unless there is some legislation being passed that Sabor is split on and that our one vote would make a difference. But the main thing is that we would have "our" representative and they would be voicing our stance on issues.
I have a feeling HDZ will do well this time around, but I'm not sure if they will be able to hold a majority of if they will form some kind of coalition of center-right parties.

: Seeing as though most of the discussions on
