Anything with a decent heal. Paige's new for Christmas boots fell apart and of course they wouldn't take them back as by April I had no receipt.. anyway we looked everywhere and no boots her size I could afford. So I was at Sears and they had a pair of black leather dress shoes marked down to $7.00. Leather, nice little heal, nice thick strap... they work fine. And they are holding up through riding, grooming, bathing and trudging through the paddock. Mine are a pair of black healed shoes I got at Target, like 5 years ago. Same thing... holding up great, no matter what I do with them. Once in ahile put some polish on them and for a bit they even look good. lol
