...follow other photographers other than in a passing interest if I come across them. I almost don't like to see what others are doing too much because I don't want to think of their stuff when I'm playing with mine.

After having some fun with it...
Just use your imagination and see what comes forth. I'm usually surprised because I don't know what it's going to be till it just sort of emerges as I'm playing with it.
