Obama declares swine flu emergency
WASHINGTON (AFP) – President Barack Obama has declared swine flu a "national emergency," the White House said Saturday, as the United States reels from millions of cases of infection and over 1,000 deaths.
The emergency declaration, signed by the president late Friday, enhances the ability of medical treatment facilities to handle a spike in influenza A(H1N1) patients by allowing them to implement emergency plans thanks to federal requirement waivers.

Normal flu kills 23,000 ppl per year. .. so when does 1,000 deaths constitute an emergency? .. When it's an excuse to implement total government control?
You can count on barry using this politically. That's the 'Chicago Way'. .. and it was EXPECTED. Alinsky's rule: "Never let a good crisis go to waste" (we talked about barry using the H1N1 as a "crisis" in June & July) By declaring an "emergency", with Obama in the White House, it’s clearly another power-grabbing move, intended to set aside the normal rule of law. (not that he's ever let the law or the constitution get in his way)
He's at liberty to declare Marshall Law.
