exactly for the reason you mentioned. . "intimidating". LOL.. you must have read my mind.
Like horses, I told Ron that a good dog is any color.. but my preference is 'dark'. .. and her color is exactly what I had in mind.
Her sire shows in that attack dog stuff.. I know all of this (moving in with us) is new to her, but her demeaner seems kind of serious. She does wag her tail when one or the other of us walks in the room though. .. so maybe she's bonding.
I saw a dog toy for $5 in the store today - a 1" cotton rope, about 8" long with a knot tied in each end.. and thought, "shoot! I have a few new cotton lead ropes that I paid $1.35 for! .. I can sacrafice one lead rope and make about eight or nine 'toys'". El loved it! .. maybe I'll make another toy for the other dogs.
This dog is interesting. She sits and watches and listens... more than other dogs we've had. She's either really really smart.. or really really dumb.. but her eyes don't say she's dumb. A smart dog will take more work. .. but that's ok. Anyway, time will tell.
Right now, Ron is sitting on the floor watching tv.. and she's asleep with her head over his leg. .. cute. (bonding time)
