Posted by Jan Walker We used to sing this in elementary school in Miami. I have no idea where it originated and who wrote it but you can sure bet now I'm going to find out. I remember the tune but I had forgotten a couple of the lines, which you have filled in for me. I learned it as: The only line that sounds unfamiliar to me is "where the children used to roam," though that's probably correct because I used to roam in orange groves when I was a kid -- way back then. I can't imagine children doing that now, though. If you get any other information on this song, I'd really be grateful if you'd let me know! Thanks! --Previous Message--![]()

Sharon!
I'm still in shock! I've been humming this song all my life and I'm 47 years old. The last time I hummed it I thought I ought to get on the Internet and try to find the words, some of which I had forgotten...and the very first listing was your post! I burst into tears!
I want to wake up in the morning where the orange blossoms grow...

: sleeping and the song birds say
: hello...I want to wander through
: the orange groves where the
: children used to roam....and I'll
: make my home in florida, where the
: orange blossoms grow.
: If anyone knows different words or
: who wrote it or when or where I
