It goes as follows: "I want to wake up in the morning where the orange blossoms grow, I want to wander through the orange groves
I learned that song at Gulfport School in St. Petersburg back in 1949, when I was in second grade. We sang it at school assemblies, accompanied by a pianist. My three siblings and I were born in Florida, our father was born in Florida, and our grandfather was born in Florida.
Where the sun comes peepin' into where I'm sleepin'
And the songbirds say Hello.
Where the children used to roam
And come drifting back to Florida
Where the orange blossoms grow."
