To put the device into boot mode the mode pins should be set as below. MD1 = 0 The FWE pin should be high and the device reset. If after checking these settings it still doesn't work make sure that Rx on the H8S is connected (via an RS232 level shifter) to Tx on the PC and Tx on the H8S is connected (via an RS232 level shifter) to Rx on the PC.
