Posted by John I am going to extend my design by adding 4 or 8Mbytes of RAM. Unfortunately, in the 3068F datasheet Renesas doesn't clearly specify what types of DRAM this MCU supports. After careful reading I *guess* that it supports standard DRAMs and Fast Page Mode (FPM) DRAMs. But both of them are obsolete and it seems that nobody makes such chips (yes, I know that some distributors and manufacturers still have them in stock). The only old type DRAM still produced is Extended Data Out (EDO). EDO has the same control signals as the two mentioned above so I wonder if 3068F can handle it. Does anynybody have more knowledge on this topic? Any help will be appreciated. Kind regards,
