RESO pin on H8S/2144

Hello all,
I would like to use the reset output "RESO" pin on the H8S/2144F to reset on-board peripherals. The pin is supposed to generate a local reset (active low) after the processor recieves its reset pulse, but it doesn't. The same is noticed on the EVB. Are there any configuration registers to set that I am not aware of?
