Posted by hippy Warm and (too) sticky at present, dry and often sunny, but the evenings are getting darker sooner and Autumn's approaching. That's 'not far north of London' anyway. Beers are still warm and the best in the world :-) I think a lot would depend on exactly how Safety Critical your product is going to be. The lack of guarantees on PICAXE firmware operation under all circumstances is only really a small part of the issue. It may be better to throw the discussion onto the PICAXE Forum where more people can give a perspective, and I'm also more likely to see the discussion over there. But that doesn't mean your posting here is not welcomed !

: How's the weather over there? I am
: English and live in Australia. I am
: coming back to the UK for a holiday
: in a few weeks. Hence the question!
: Back on topic.... I am a crazy
: inventor and an ex TV engineer (ex
: meaning 20 years ago). I have
: electronics skills to some degree
: and as an ex IT systems manager I
: have good high level programming
: language skills but no low level
: language skills. Hence... with no
: assembly language skills, I have
: created a potential product based on
: the Picaxe. I certainly understand
: it is not really designed to be a
: commercial micro but unless I
: outsource, I am limited in my
: choices. Would PicBasic Pro be any
: better or do I maybe need to stretch
: my skills to a processor I can
: program in C. Based on your
: explanation of the interpreted
: languages being the potential source
: of problems, it seems perhaps I
: wouldn't really be moving much
: further forward.
:
: I should have asked these questions
: in my first post really!

: Thanks mate
