T68 serial interface.

How did you (Hippy) directly connect a t68 to a picaxe?? I have a DRS-11 cable which works fine with a pc, but I can't get it to work with a pic (because i don't have a rs232 convertor). Iread that you managed to directly connect them together??? I don't mind canibalising the phone to connect it.
