I just found out that Ross K. Bagwell died last October. Here's the obit...
BAGWELL, JR., ROSS KENNEDY - age 56, passed away Saturday, October 4 after an extended illness. He was born July 22, 1952 at St. Mary's Hospital. Ross worked over 30 years as a director of television programming and was a pioneer in lifestyle programming, especially the "how to" genre. He directed thousands of hours of programming, shot around the world, for various networks. Ross directed the first sitcom for cable television, "I-40 Paradise", which aired on TNN. He also directed 1,200 hours of the popular dance program, Club Dance, of which he was a co-creator. He spent two years on location in Tucson, Arizona, directing the hit series "Hey Dude" for Nickelodeon. He worked on several projects with Roy Rogers and Gene Autry including directing the two series Happy Trails Theatre and Melody Ranch Theatre for TNN. Ross was a co-director of Elvis Presley's last concert, which aired on CBS, and directed "Baryshnikov at the White House", which aired on PBS. One of his favorite projects took him and his father to the South Pacific to shoot a documentary on how the islands, including Iwo Jima, were still affected by the battles of WWII. During his career, Ross served as President of Cinetel Productions, Bagwell Communications, Ross Television Productions, and Bagwell Entertainment, LLC. He also was a southern fiction writer. He completed three novels, When Pigs Fly, Larry the Lover, , and Karnsville. Ross graduated from Webb School of Knoxville and the University of Tennessee. While at the University of Tennessee, he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Ross was an avid golfer, a long-time member of the Cherokee Country Club, UT fan, and a collector of military artifacts. Ross is survived by his parents, Ross K., Sr. and Sue Burchfield Bagwell; his sister and brother-in-law, Dee and Jimmy Haslam; his nephew, James Oakley; his nieces, Whitney Haslam and Cynthia Haslam Arnholt and her husband, David Arnholt. Memorial donations may be sent to the Pellissippi State Technical Community College for the Bagwell Center for Media and Art, 10915 Hardin Valley Road, Knoxville, TN 37933 or to the Webb School of Knoxville for the Bagwell Tennis Center, 9800 Webb School Drive, Knoxville, TN 37923. The family will receive friends on Monday, October, 6 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike.
