The Bard heavy weight mesh plug has been a huge problem for many patients. It contracts into a hard, rock like mass in every patient. This can cause pain into the testicle and if the spermatic cord gets caught up in the scar tissue, it can cause the testicle to retract. The myopectineal oriface is where hernias come out in the groin. It is best to cover it with a FLAT piece of mesh, not a heavy weight plug. I t is possible that mesh was the main factor in your post hernia pain syndrome and placing a plug during neurectomy is NOT the standard of care. It wouldn't suprise me if your current pain is plug related.
