Yesterday, I had seen a doctor who graduated from Dr. Ralph Aye's medical program. So she actually knows both the Hill and Nissen repairs. She wanted me to try Hyomax to see if it is caused by muscle spasms. To be quite honest, I don't think it has done anything and I feel much worse. I think she said the next step would be to do an endoscopy to stretch the esophagus. But I would think that if they went in there to do that, they could accurately assess what is going on? This other surgeon has worked with my initial surgeon and they know each other. It seems to me a lot of my symptoms is centered around the central chest area and it makes it seem tight. I can swallow o.k, have no heartburn but it is just this awful pain and discomfort. I don't know how long you have to take the pills before they work but I have already taken about 4 of them in a 30 hour period and it is of no help. Since they repaired the hiatal hernia, I asked about replaciing the Nissen with the EsophagyX. It was mentioned that it still needs some improvements and may not be good in my case.
