I am a 40-year old male. I am a long time weight-lifter. I had Laporascopic Left side Inguinal Hernia Repair Surgery in December of 2008. When the surgeon opened me up laporascopically he observed 2 hernias ( 1 direct and 1 indirect). He told me he used a large piece of mesh, 2 titanium tacks, and a titanium screw. I have been in pain for over 3 months in the area where the screw was placed. I have had a pelvic CT Scan last week which shows everything is normal. The surgeon thinks the screw might be causing my pain. He wants to surgically remove it. He said he only uses screws in 5% of his patients. He does about 400 hernia surgeries a year for the last 15 years. He is willing to do this surgery next week. I am very confused and dont know what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I really need help. Thank You, Joe.
