I had a repair of a recurent left inguinal herniorrhaphy with Perfix plug and Onlay mesh 2 years ago. I have been in constant dull pain since the surgery. I have been back to see my surgeon twice.....once after 3 and 1/2 months and he gave me some stretching exercises....(didn't help.) I then saw him last February and after an examination, he declared I didn't have a hernia. I then asked what could be still causing the pain and he said he didn't know. (Great!)(He also suggested that I may want to go to the Mayo Clinic.) In between all of this. I have seen my regular doctor (Internal Medicine) and have had an MRI and a CT scan done. He said that the scans don't show anything...(again GREAT!)
If I push in about one inch above and a bit to the left of the incisional scar the pain is extreme. I have trouble sleeping through the night due to tossing and turning to minimize the pain but usually to no avail.
I do not have any confidence in my doctors any more.....the pain rules my life!
Would the plug or the mesh be causing the problem?
