Dear Good Doctor,
I will try to make this as short as possible...I need advise as to what to do next.
After having both a complete hysterectomy, then a cholecystectomy, with no end to my pain, I was sent to Mayo. The doctors said that both operations were most likely needless. However, they too did not find the cause of my pain. Not until I was referred to a doctor here in S. Jersey. Without even examining me he said I had a hernia.
He operated soon after our meeting and found not one but two hernias.both right sided..One was Inguinal, and the other was an incarcerated femoral hernia.
For weeks after the operation, I went back to the operating doctor and explained that the pain while decreased was still there. Now three years later, and after extensive work on my part, IE, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractor, massage therapy, numerous nerve blocks, (only one that worked). I am at a complete loss of what to do next. I've read about the North Penn. Hernia clinic, and several others all over the country. I know it's either nerve damage, or the darn tacks. My right side pubic area over to the crease in my thigh is in extraordinary pain, I can barely function. I've read about the neurectomy, and other very invasive surgeries, but I cannot fathom another surgery without some relief. I always tend to be in that 3%!! The % that remain in pain...Do you have any of your expertise to offer? I thank you so much for your time in both reading this and your help.
Sincerely,
Tara
