HerniaMD,
My cousin had a lap bilateral inguinal hernia repair yesterday. The doc put in a Bard 3D Max Mesh and an UltraPro mesh. He also had to have a urinary catheter because he couldn't void afterwards and stayed overnight. He's being discharged today (unless the bladder scan says otherwise).
I suppose this is day 1.5 post surgery and he says the side with the UltraPro is making the area where his groin meets his hip hurt, while the other side is less painful. Is that normal?
Also, he's not standing up totally straight because that hurts, but I'm kinda worried that he'll heal in that position. Should we encourage him to stand up straight today or wait?
Thanks very much,
Lilah
