I Had laproscopic surgery on May 18th, 2009. The doctor found a 3" hole, and patched it, from the back side with mesh. I felt great, hadn't felt that good for years. Went back for my 2 week check-up, everything was great, I felt Great. 3 days after my check-up, i was at work, and most likely was doing more than i should of been doing. (I made the mistake of going back to work, 2 days after surgery). My left testicle, swelled, and i got pains shooting down the back of my thigh on my left leg. It has been 3 weeks, since i compromised my operation. I have seen my surgeon twice, once for my check-up, and again 3 days after hurting myself. I spoke to my surgeon today, and he is informing me that he is concerned that if he goes back in to operate, he can cause more damage than good to my body, he strongly suggests that i see a pain specialist, and learn to deal with my condition. 4 months ago, i could walk miles, i could hike, i could enjoy life. Today, I feel lucky if i can walk with my wife to go shopping. I am 40 years old, I trully believe the mesh has moved, and i need surgery again. My doctor , is hesitent to operate again, He says I only had one chance at laproscopy surgery, and if he does cut me again, it will be an open surgery. He also stated he will have to put the patch on the outside this time, since he already tried from the back side.
This is very frustrating to think, that i destroyed my surgeons repair work, and now i am being told that i may have to deal with this new standard of life. He says I must wait another 2 to 3 months, before I can get testing to try to find something on an MRI.
