Here's an interesting article about watchful waiting

A surgery professor has had hernias for 20 years untreated and is behind the health service in the UK adopting more watchful waiting.

Interesting also, one of the comments at the bottom talks about someone's body rejecting the mesh. (though others look like marketting spam)
