Had a follow up apt. today, and the surgeon said I probably have a lot of swelling that will take about 2 to 3 weeks to go down. The pain should gradually go away. It's good to have no more heartburn. He said this time, he redid the hiatal hernia and put in an extra stitch besides doing everything else.
I am not as worried as I once was. I have heard of several people getting cancer and having painful slow deaths from esophageal cancer. I don't think all of those pills are good for you either.
