I have two hernias in my upper abdoman for bypass surgery. the lower one is about the size of a large golf ball, the one above is about the size of 50 cent piece. I had a surgen look at them, he stated the bigger one could be done via laporscope. but the upper one only about 2" above the other. it is right at the end of the sternum. the surgen stated that because this one is so close to the liver, they would have to be done surgicaly. since they are both so close togeather, why they cannot both be done laporscoply.
