I guess the type of surgery would help like you mentioned Jeff.
I'm not up on the specifics of the repair but after talking with the surgeon yesterday there was some babble about the inguinal ring (can't say for sure but I do believe he said there was some repair there) and then he installed the mesh over top. I can't say for sure how the mesh was put in.
I've had a couple of people mention the Shouldice Hospital and after yesterday's visit it is sitting right on the front of my mind. I very well could be that 5% that experiences pain after hernia surgergy but I'd like to think it's something otherwise. I'm not saying that the anti inflammatories won't work, I just don't want to find myself wasting time popping pills for nothing. I want to be fair to the doctor but I think I just went in and expected an answer that was a little more concrete.
