Bilateral inguinal hernias are best repaired with laparoscopic techniques. I do all my surgery in a free standing surgery center where there is NO MRSA infection since we don't allow any MRSA patients have a procedure at our center. The recovery after the lap repair is fairly rapid. Open repairs requires an incision in both groins and is NOT preferred. A clear advantage of lap hernia surgery is a decreases rate of post op wound infections.
