Post-Hernia Pain

Just had hernia surgery (I think it's called linguinal?); I am thin, 38 years old and in good health. Surgeon placed mesh in the small hernia site. Was recovering well with no pain at the site until day 6, when I started having much pain at the site, and it feels like something is pressing on my bladder. Nurse says it's just healing, but why would there be no pain and now much pain? Did I pop the mesh out? Why does it feel like something is pressing on my bladder during urination? Any ideas?
