Hi Crystal, Us ladies seem to be in the minority on this board. I just had an Incisional Surgery for a hernia on the left side. I've had 4 other surgeries for hernias over the years, all laparoscopic. I can't speak for yours, going into an old incision, but for me, the open surgery has been very similar to hysterectomy surgery I had year's ago. It's taking me 3 weeks now to even start feeling "normal". I still have pain, have had to have fluid drained each week from the site, but am finally off the pain meds. Recovery is taking much longer than I anticipated.
