I used Elavil for about a year and a half for nerve pain following surgery. It worked better for me than Lyrica. My pain continues, but it has lessened greatly on its own. I have been told its due to scar tissue or damage to the ilioinguinal nerve. I stopped taking Elavil because 1) my pain lessened and 2) it elevated my blood pressure.
