Hi jeff. I do appreciate you sharing your story. There are risks with hernia surgery and every patient needs to know about these potential risks. I agree with your recommendations. There are some plugs (NOT the Davol plug) that are okay for selected hernias. I also respect the judgment of Dr. Goodyear, however, further treatment may be necessary for you. You may be one who does best with no synthetic mesh in the groin. Perhaps removal of the PHS and reconstruction with native tissue or a biologic product may be an option. Consider seeing Dr. Bruce Ramshaw or Dr. Grisckan. Keep us informed as to your progress.
