I have been going through a similar form of hell since 2001. Dr. Goodyear performed two separate hernia surgeries on each side that year and I have been in bad pain since.
Dr. Goodyear's solution was to just keep saying it will get better in a couple months, then he said maybe a year, then even two years. Never got better.
In 2004 Dr. Amid performed triple neurectomies on each side and he only made the right side marginally better.
Last year, Dr. Grischkan (Cleveland) removed the plug on my right side and replaced it with new mesh and freed up my spermadic cord. Aside from my cord being freed up, I am in the same amount of pain. He thinks I should be pain free right now, but is going to try some type of shots on me shortly.
Like you, I am trim, eat well, and do the little exercise I can. I have tried nearly all type of therapies and pain killers with poor results. I get pain from sitting, standing, or lifting. I pretty much need to lie down to feel better, and I only feel really good when I first get up in the morning.
You are not alone and we just got to keep ourselves afloat until there is a solution at end. If I am ever cured or close to it, I will certainly post on this board, and hope you would do the same. God bless.
