Do these things now:
- get a copy of your operative note to see what type of repair was done and what kind of mesh was used.
- see a hernia surgeon who is experienced in post hernia pain syndromes
- you will likely need an MRI to rule out any other pathology in the area such as a torn muscle.
- if you pain is determined to be secondary to mesh, you will likely need re-exploration with removal of mesh, triple neurectomy, and reconstruction with a lightweight polypropylene mesh.
