Hello!
I had a full hysterectomy in 2006 which resulted in an abcess (yes it was a nightmare). Since then I have lost over 70 pounds and now have been diagnosed with an incisional hernia in my lower right abdomen. It only protrudes when I cough, sneeze or strain to have a bowel movement. It causes me pain after exercise or lifting. I am suppose to have surgery on June 15th and the doctor said he is opening up my orginial cutline (closest to my pubic bone) and going from there. Why not lapro? How will I know if there is bowel obstruction? what are the symptoms of that? What kind of recovery time am I looking at? I am a teacher so I am off for the summer and I don't want to lose the whole summer recovering. I am wondering if the recovery will be similiar to my recovery from my hysterectomy where the cutline was from pubic bone to 2 inches above my belly button.
Sorry for such a long post- but I have lots of questions. :)
thanks!
